Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder Alliance (SABDA) was established in 1991 as a support group for parents, carers of and/or persons with schizophrenia, bipolar mood disorder and related mental health disorders. “Friends of Tara” as they were initially known, understood only too well how inadequate, afraid and lonely one can feel dealing with mental health disorders.
SABDA opened a residential facility, called Nola House, named after a benefactor who was instrumental in securing the property in Blairgowrie, Randburg. Nola House is a community home that offers long term care and support to adults living with mental health disorders.
SABDA is registered with the Department of Social Development, NPO 003-907 and is a licensed mental health care user with the Department of Health MHNGO/18 COJ.
